POSTER PRESENTATION

LightStream Consulting Group and AddictionAbatement.org were invited to participate in the 2022 AATOD Conference as a Poster Presenter. The poster highlights the critical steps and recommendations that emerged from 39 multidisciplinary industry leaders – with a myriad of addiction specialties and first-hand lived experience – who came together in person on May 17, 2022 at Georgetown University to address the overdose crisis head-on during a national conference titled, Breaking the Stigma and Ending the Addiction Cycle: Critical Steps for States, Counties and Tribes to Abate the Opioid Crisis. Three immediate actions were drawn from the convening:

  • Identify the steps necessary to develop a comprehensive opioid response plan for your community to ensure settlement funds are used to abate the problem and save lives.

  • Apply best practices and effective program models for opioid and substance use prevention, harm reduction and treatment that align with the continuum of care model.

  • Asses how stigma affects health outcomes within your community and the social factors that contribute to those health inequities.

Many important themes emerged during the May 17th conference. The Poster focuses on some of the most salient points and “critical steps” that were discussed.
